The Study Material on the Buddha Religion

The founder of Buddha Religion was Gautam or Siddharth. His birth was in Lumbini (Kapilvastu, Nepal) in 563 BC. His mother's name was Maya who was the princess of the place "KUL". The earlier life of Gautam Buddha was described in the Rummindei Transcript of Ashoka, in which it was described that the mother of Gautam was died during the pregnancy of Gautam, then Gautam was care taken by his maternal aunt and his step mother Prajapati Gautami. Suyodhan was the father of Gautama Buddha.  Yashodhara was the wife and Rahul was the Son of Gautama Buddha. Devdutt was the Cousin of Gautam.

 The picture of a seeking Oldman, A illness man, A body of died man and a Monk created  the hatred feeling in Siddharth about world and He decided to reject the richfull lifestyle. Siddharth gave up his home in age of just 29 years after the birth his son Rahul for discovering of truth.  The gave up the home by Siddharth is known as Mahaviniskraman.

Siddharth spent his life as houseless monk in the direction of two Scholorist ( First Alar Kalam, who teached Siddharth in Vaishali and Secondly Uddak or Ramputra teached Siddharth in Rajgir). But Siddharth was not able to find the truth and he concentrated his mind under the Pipal Tree in Bodhgaya (Bihar). Buddha gained the supreme knowledge " Bodhi" under that Pipal tree of Bodhgaya in the age of 35 years and he obtained Second Site.

After this, Buddha addressed his first religious lecture in Sarnath (Near Varanasi). After the first religious lecture, Buddha have five followers. The first religious lecture of Buddha was called " Dharma Chakra Pravartan" . Siddharth was died at Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh) in 483 BC, 45 year after obtaining Bodhi. The Buddha lived 80 years. Buddha had lived in the Chand Kumar Jewellers' home in Pawapuri for a night befor his death. The two followers Subhakar and Anand listened the last lecture of Buddha.

The Lecture of Buddha:-

Buddha explained Spiritual progress of human in his lecture. He opposed the killing of Animal. He also opposed the caste System in Hinduism. The lecture of Buddha is mixture of Logical and Practical. So, Buddha religion is known as Social Revolution not religious revolution.

The meaning of the death of Buddha was the turn off the light . Buddha believed in nature of work and Re-born of Human. According to Buddha, the present and future born of a man depends upon his nature of work. Buddha was called Naturalist because he neither accepted  nor rejected to God.

There was two types of followers in Buddha's Religion ------ Ascetic and General Votary. The ascetics were connected by union. The problem of ascetics was to more comprehensive for the expansion of Buddha religion. The Men or Women who crossed the age 15 years, may be included in Buddha's union.

Boudh Assembly:-

First Boudh Assembly:- This Assembly was held in Rajgir in 483 BC. Its president was Mahakashyapa.
Second Boudh Assembly:- This assembly was held in Vaishali in 383 BC and Sabakami was the president. This assembly was held in the rule of Kalasoka.
Third Boudh Assembly:-  This assembly was held in Patliputra in 255 BC and Moggaliputta Tissa was the president. This assembly was held in the rule of Ashoka.
Fourth Boudh Assembly:- This assembly was held in Kundalvan in Ist AD and Vasumitra/Ashwaghosh was the president of this assembly. This Assembly was held in the rule of Kanishk.
